Life wasn’t a bed of roses

That Mexican OT biography
That Mexican OT biography

During his years in middle school years, OT’s father invested a lot of effort and time to help him find his path. His father used to wake OT up for rap battles. Life wasn’t a bed of roses however for Virgil as he found himself in trouble at 7 when his mother died and the police arrested his father.

By the end of middle school, OT deviated a lot from the clean path and started experimenting with drugs, engaging in fights, and selling substances.

Though at a point OT moved on to Stony Point High School, Austin still couldn’t come out of something that he got himself caught into. Naturally, being deviated from the right path to this point marked that OT had no plans for his future at all. When he graduated high school, That Mexican OT started writing and recording rap lyrics.

No matter how challenging he found his life to be, OT dedicated his first song to his late mother.

So it can be said that as a teen, OT struggled with self-image issues and drug abuse.

Through his musical creations, That Mexican OT has shared about his upbringing, his family history, and past struggles with addiction.

Personal life

Virgil René Gazca witnessed a tough background with father Carlos Moreno who spent his early years behind bars. His Sophia Ann Gazca, sold drugs to make a living for the family. She passed away in 2007. That Mexican OT has a younger half-brother.

Throughout his upbringing, OT noticed a unique mix of musical taste and life challenges. The family that appreciated different musical styles exposed OT to a range of sounds from Juneville to Muddy Waters and Jazz. OT’s father also eventually became his music teacher.

That Mexican OT has a luchador mask tattoo on his hand that serves as a reminder of his Mexican origin, which refers to the courage to fight.
